A warrior?
Aside from Yang Bo himself, no one in the room believed him, especially Mystique, who was rubbing her aching thigh.
The blood was drawn fairly quickly. By the time they finished speaking, the syringe was full.
Xavier gently pulled the needle out of his arm. His face was still a little pale, not because he had lost too much blood, but because Yang Bo's jab had hurt so much.
"Sir, it's done."
Yang Bo took the syringe and gave it a gentle shake, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
He put the blood into his backpack, took out a fresh blood-drawing kit, and handed it to Xavier.
"Here, keep going."
The blood-drawing kit that suddenly vanished from Yang Bo's hand, followed by another appearing out of nowhere, startled Xavier. His eyes filled with certainty.
His meaning was obvious: And you still claim you're not a mutant?
"How much blood do you want? If you want to study the mutant gene, those fifty milliliters are more than enough."
As far as Xavier was concerned, Yang Bo was drawing blood merely to study people like them who possessed special genes. He had begun researching that long ago himself; otherwise, he would never have chosen genetics.
At Xavier's words, Yang Bo raised an eyebrow. "How much? You're making it sound like we can't afford to draw more."
"In a word, drain it all!"
His joke made Xavier go pale. Still sitting on the floor, he couldn't help scooting backward twice.
"I was just joking to lighten the mood. Honestly."
Yang Bo tossed the blood-drawing kit to Xavier, who caught it instinctively, then pointed at Raven and said:
"Go draw a syringe of her blood."
Seeing that Xavier wanted to speak, he said outright, "Either you do it, or I do."
