How am I supposed to save you, my idiot son...
Yondu's thinking was simple. If Star-Lord had been his biological son, he would have splattered him against the wall back then. The little bastard was too damn good at screwing over his dad.
The Mad Titan Thanos slaughtered half the life on planets without gaining anything, as far as anyone else could see. What was he if not a lunatic???
He also commanded an army of warriors selected from planets across the universe through survival of the fittest.
That did not even include the forces that followed Thanos's army, cannon fodder like the Chitauri, whose numbers were even greater.
Yondu grabbed Star-Lord by the collar and clamped his other hand over his mouth. Baring his crooked teeth, he said with an awkward laugh, "Heh, sorry, everyone. He forgot his meds this morning. I'll take him to Xandar to see a doctor."
With that, he held on to the struggling Star-Lord and started dragging him outside.
Star-Lord had only wanted to cause some chaos and seize the chance to escape. He had never imagined that Yondu, who had always feared nothing and no one, would chicken out so quickly.
Yondu was not chickening out. He simply did not think it was worth it. Getting himself and his men killed here just to deliver a tough line was not bravery. It was being a fucking idiot.
Star-Lord kept signaling to Gamora with his beady eyes. The two had gotten along fairly well in prison, mostly because he had taken a fancy to her looks.
Gamora had no time to pay attention to Star-Lord's antics. Her mind was in utter chaos. Two Thanoses did not mean twice the fatherly love. There were far, far too many questions involved.
Now was not the time
