But Darkseid's body remained unaffected, and he easily broke free of the Black Hole's pull.

Granny Goodness, one of the supervillains serving under Darkseid in the DC world, looked exactly like a human from Earth, with a kindly, benevolent face.
Her heart and methods, however, were enough to make anyone's skin crawl. She was not particularly powerful herself, but her cruelty and exceptional talent for brainwashing had made her the trainer of Darkseid's elite forces.
Darkseid had no intention of letting Granny Goodness die like this.
