Miao Qingjie set down his wine cup, took a scroll from his sleeve, and handed it to Leng Tieya. "Mr. Sun, word has come back from the sect. There are eight major strongholds within ten thousand li of Wanjiang City. They're all here."
"Many thanks, Young Master Miao." Leng Tieya accepted the scroll with a smile and unfolded it directly.
As he examined it, his eyes gradually narrowed, and he sneered. "There are actually eight of them. This Ghost Bone Sect is larger than I imagined!"
The scroll contained a map, with the eight major altar branches embedded among the mountains and rivers.
Wanjiang City lay to the south, and only two of the eight altar branches were nearby.
Leng Tieya guessed they were the Second Western Altar and the Third Eastern Altar.
His gaze roamed over the eight altar branches.
Miao Qingjie looked unconcerned. "The number isn't great, but they've spread their net wide."
Seeing Leng Tieya's gaze continually wandering across the map, he smiled. "What are you looking for, Mr. Sun?"
Leng Tieya knew the Ghost Bone Sect had ten altars, yet only eight were marked here.
That meant two altars had escaped Star Picking Cliff's investigation.
Those two altars were likely extremely well concealed, perhaps the Ghost Bone Sect's hidden trump cards.
He smiled. "I'm looking at whether there's any particular logic to how they're positioned."
"Oh?" Miao Qingjie craned his neck for a glance and laughed. "There's something to their placement?"
"It looks like a pattern," Leng Tieya said.
Miao Qingjie glanced at it again and shook his head.
He could not make out any pattern. There were merely eight locations.
The map marked mountains and rivers, and those altar branches had to be built against mountains.
Without mountains, there naturally would be no altar branches.
