Vanessa caught up with Wade-or rather, Wade had never really wanted to avoid his lover.
But when Vanessa's fist passed through Wade's body, both of them froze.
Vanessa backed away a few steps, her face deathly pale.
"Baby."
"Oh no, Wade. Damn, I really am dead."
Faced with her former lover, she couldn't even slap him. What a heartbreaking thing that was. (???)
"No, no, no."
Vanessa's grief-stricken expression broke Wade's heart. He scrambled up from the ground, wanting to comfort her.
"Baby, don't get discouraged. Maybe you just weren't concentrating earlier. Remember that movie you love watching?"
"Oh~ You mean Titanic?"
Vanessa looked at Wade in confusion as she asked.
"Yes, sweetheart. After Rose died, Jack could still play with clay with ghost Rose. That's the power of love! Focus, baby. You can do it! Come on!"
Wade gazed into Vanessa's eyes. He couldn't bear the agony of being unable to touch his lover either, and clumsily tried to comfort the despondent Vanessa.
She laughed. "You mean Ghost, Wade. And they weren't playing with clay. They were making pottery."
"Uh... that's not important. What matters is that I missed you so much."
"I missed you so much I was going crazy, Nessa."
Wade brushed his hand through the air beside Vanessa's cheek. How could she fail to feel the longing and attachment in his eyes?
Vanessa's tears welled up unbidden.
Wade's love was sincere and pure, without a trace of falsehood.
"Wade, I missed you too. But I'm dead, remember?"
Vanessa's hand passed through Wade's head, making him shudder.
"No, no, no, it was all my fault, Nessa. I'm never leaving you again. Let's stay together forever, okay? Alive or dead, I just want to be with you."
"No."
Vanessa rejected Wade.
"What! Why?"
Wade immediately lifted his head.
