The atmosphere in the interrogation room nearly froze as they watched Arataki Itto swagger about, utterly confident that he had nothing to fear.
The lead officer shook his head at the officer assisting him, and the two walked out.
"He's a tough nut to crack. Where's his lawyer? When will they get here?"
The assisting officer replied, "Oh, Officer Cyno has already gone to notify her. She should be here soon."
"He went to notify her? A phone call would do. Did he really need to go in person?"
"Officer Cyno was worried there might be something going on between Arataki Itto and his lawyer, so he said it would be safer to find her in person."
The lead officer nodded. "Fair enough. Then we'll wait for the lawyer. That young Cyno is pretty good. Which precinct was he transferred from?"
"Uh, I didn't really pay attention to that. His paper file hasn't arrived yet, but it should be in his electronic file. I'll check later."
"Right. Once his probation ends, get him assigned here permanently. We have to hold on to talent like that."
The lead officer continued as he walked, "He's a fine young man, but his jokes are absolutely terrible. Nothing but lousy punchlines..."
"I heard at least eight on the trip there and back... They practically froze me to death... Sigh..."

"Officer Cyno, the hearing has already started. The lawyer you're looking for should still be presenting her defense, so..."
