"A Scaramouche, what are you doing here?"
Natasha walked over.
Shouki no Kami's cockpit opened, and Wanderer dropped from above. Before he had even steadied himself, he started laying into them. "As expected, humans never stop innovating when it comes to destroying their own kind."
The boy's sarcasm caught T'Challa by surprise. He glanced at Natasha beside him. "A friend of yours?"
Natasha nodded without denying it.
T'Challa said, "Hmm. Quite a personality."
"This was probably an attack targeting the signing of the Sokovia Accords."
Natasha surveyed the situation outside. Her instincts as an agent led her to the same conclusion as T'Challa. "A premeditated bombing. If they'd succeeded..."
"So it was the Avengers who saved me."
"Father."
T'Challa stepped forward anxiously to support the older man.
Though King T'Chaka's face was covered in dust, he remained composed. He patted his son's arm, then turned to Natasha. "The attackers wanted to damage relations between the Avengers and the United Nations. All the more reason not to let them succeed."
"That's true. But given the current circumstances, I have a suggestion. I hope we can postpone the conference until we've caught whoever planned and organized this attack."
Natasha looked at King T'Chaka. After a moment's silence, he said slowly, "We do need to give everyone time to recover."
T'Chaka gestured toward the delegates behind him. "Everyone has had quite a fright."
The previously immaculate delegates were now covered in dust and grime. Some had even been knocked unconscious by the blast. The scene was utter chaos. The explosion over the city had been impossible to miss, and the reporters who had left earlier came running back, setting up their equipment to report on it.
With an attack having occurred, the delegates' personal safety was now a pressing concern. Those afraid for
