Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city.
"The Traveler was right. I felt it-the threat the stone spoke of."
It was Vision who spoke. He stood tall, his features gentle and refined, but his blue eyes were grave as he stared at the alien warship that had torn across the sky and crashed down into the city.
Vision instinctively tightened his grip on the hand of the woman beside him, as though trying to draw strength from that intimate contact-or to offer her reassurance.
"Don't worry, Vision. You'll be all right. We'll be all right. Everyone will be all right."
Wanda spoke softly, concern filling her fair face. Determination and tenderness shone together in her eyes as she looked straight into Vision's, trying to dispel the gloom in his heart with her words.
She squeezed his hand just as tightly, offering an unbroken stream of warmth.
Vision turned to look at her, the worry in his eyes easing slightly the moment their gazes met.
Under Wanda's concerned gaze, he slowly raised his hand and brushed her cheek with his slender fingers.
The gesture was incredibly gentle, as though he feared disturbing her, yet it also carried boundless affection.
Wanda tilted her cheek into Vision's palm, finding shelter in its familiar, slightly cool touch.
Vision drew Wanda's hand to his lips and kissed it, then slowly placed it against the center of his forehead. Looking at her, he asked, "Tell me, what do you feel?"
Wanda gently closed her eyes, her red magic touching the glowing stone on Vision's forehead.
Then the corners of her lips lifted slightly. In that moment, even with danger all around them, it seemed that as long as they stayed together, they had the strength to face anything.
"All I feel is you."
They smiled at each other.
