From Barbara, Banner learned what had happened after he transformed into the Hulk. He had no doubts about the girl's identity, either.
After all, Bennett was just a kid himself. It made sense for a kid to bring another kid to help.
What surprised him, however, was her role: "Deaconess of the Church of Favonius." He could be forgiven for never having heard of it. Seeing that Dr. Banner no longer doubted her, Barbara asked May if she could leave with them.
May had no objection to Barbara joining them. The girl seemed cheerful and lively, and her manner of speaking was as warm and approachable as a girl from next door.
From what she had said, May also understood that she knew this friend of Banner's and had come to help soothe the Hulk. That put May somewhat at ease. At the very least, Barbara's presence gave them another measure of security.
So May readily agreed to the girl's request.
