Eddie was going out of his mind. Ever since he had escaped from that creepy Life Foundation yesterday, he had felt something was wrong with his body.
Extreme thirst and ravenous hunger were eating away at what little sanity he had left, leaving him unable to think.
It felt unbearable!
When he woke up in the bathtub that morning, he had barely recognized himself in the mirror.
Not only did he look utterly haggard, but his clothes were covered in his own vomit.
"Oh my God, what did I do?"
Eddie's memories stopped shortly after he got home.
He had drunk a glass of water. He was hungry, desperately hungry, so he had torn open an entire bag of popcorn chicken and stuffed it into his mouth.
But that had done nothing to ease the hunger that filled him with panic. Out of the corner of his eye, Eddie had spotted the family bucket he had thrown in the trash two days ago, picked it up, and started gulping down its contents.
Ugh...
The sour taste and rotten stench had made him vomit everything into the toilet. When he brushed his teeth, the distorted reflection in the mirror-huge eyes so pale green they were almost white, and a mouth full of jagged fangs-had reminded him of monsters in horror movies.
Although the sight of his reflection had frightened him into passing out in the bathtub, Eddie was certain he hadn't imagined it.
"Oh God, what's wrong with me?"
Even worse, something seemed to have gone wrong with his mind, too. A deep, hoarse, disgusting voice that only he could hear kept tormenting him.
It made his head feel as though it were splitting open, as if a swarm of ants were crawling through his skull, leaving him miserable and irritable.
