Jason spread his palms slightly. Two blades of gilded bronze light materialized out of thin air and settled firmly into his hands. Flecks of warm light flowed along them in the mist, and peacock-blue patterns wound from their hilts to their tips. Even the air seemed to warp faintly.
"Are those magical weapons?"
It was Tim's first time seeing Jason produce this pair of blades. They had even appeared out of thin air, with no physical form at all beforehand.
"After my soak in the Lazarus Pit, Talia sent me to train with the All-Caste in the Himalayas. I earned their recognition there, which let me wield their exclusive magical blades." He hefted the twin blades in his hands. They trembled lightly, as though sensing the evil lurking nearby. "These things naturally counter all supernatural monsters and creatures of pure darkness. They pass right through ordinary humans, but things like vampires that survive on dark magic? One cut burns their very essence to nothing."
These two blades were the natural nemesis of dark monsters that wielded magic.
But Jason did not explain that the All-Caste Blade was no ordinary weapon. It relied on neither gunpowder nor machinery, and it had no actual cutting edge. Instead, it burned the power of Jason's own soul.
