In the dim light, their surroundings looked even more unnerving.
The metal shelves gleamed coldly, like monsters waiting to devour someone, while a cloying, pungent smell filled every corner.
"Is this... a warehouse?" Lia struggled to make out her surroundings.
She seemed particularly sensitive to the drugs she had inhaled, and her body had reacted strongly. Even though she was awake now, she still couldn't control her limbs properly.
Not to mention that both of them had their hands and feet bound.
"Probably a factory warehouse for cosmetics or perfume. The fragrance smells cheap."
Seraphina frowned and looked around, but found nothing that could help them escape. Nor did the warehouse's interior offer any clues to their exact location.
The good news was that, judging by how long she felt she had been unconscious, they were probably still in Gotham.
The bad news was that this was Gotham.

Lia trembled uncontrollably. "What can we do? Will someone come save us?"

She didn't know whether she had accidentally lost it during the abduction or the kidnappers had taken it.
Seraphina forced herself to stay calm. "Before I passed out, I saw them knock down my driver. I'm afraid he won't be able to call for help in time. When the butler notices I haven't come home on schedule, he'll definitely ask around and investigate... but I chose to leave my planned route today, and we don't know what condition the driver is in. That process will definitely take some time. The kidnappers might not give us that time, though."
