Lynn looked at Myrcella.
Her green eyes burned with anger.
Lynn had been using greensight to keep track of Robert's movements.
Naturally, he knew that Cersei had been struck.
The handprint Robert had left on Cersei's face had not only brought the queen to her senses, but also shattered the princess's last illusory shred of affection for the word "father."
Robert's plan was vicious and foolish.
He had underestimated where people's loyalties lay and overestimated his own control.
Lynn reached out and drew Myrcella into his arms.
Myrcella's body was rigid.
Clearly, she was furious beyond words.
Robert had shamelessly placed all the blame for Petyr's actions on Lynn alone.
"All right, I understand."
Lynn's voice carried a soothing strength.
"You and your mother did well."
"This information is crucial to me."
The body in his arms finally relaxed a little.
Myrcella buried her face in Lynn's chest.
His scent, tinged with leather and pinewood, eased her taut nerves slightly.
"He hit Mother."
Myrcella's voice was muffled and thick with tears.
"And he wants to kill you."
"I know."
Lynn gently patted her back.
"Don't worry. He won't succeed."
"No one will ever tear us apart. Not even death!"
Lynn's words rang like the most solemn of vows.
He raised his head and looked past Myrcella's shoulder, out into the deep darkness beyond the window.
It was time to take stock of the cards he held.
Lynn closed his eyes and sank his consciousness into the depths of his mind.
The virtual panel, glowing a spectral blue, appeared before him.
