Margaery's heart clenched.
Twice the stakes.
The Lannisters would have to pay a price too.
Although she did not know exactly what Lynn meant by stakes, she understood the weight of his words.
Lynn was not humiliating House Tyrell. He was laying down his rules, the rules of the victor at this stage.
The perfect smile she had maintained throughout the journey began to falter.
Humiliation and ambition fought furiously in her beautiful brown eyes.
She knew perfectly well that those doubled stakes meant far more than Gold Dragons and grain.
They meant that House Tyrell would have to commit without reservation, binding its fate irrevocably to Lynn's warship.
There would be no retreat, no waiting on the sidelines.
And certainly no playing both sides.
They could either come aboard or get out.
The Tyrells' earlier fence-sitting had already deeply displeased Lynn.
"I..."
The Tyrells' conduct embarrassed her too. Margaery opened her mouth, unsure what to say.
"I need time to consider."
In the end, those were the words she spoke.
Whatever the circumstances, she could not make this decision on the spot for all of House Tyrell.
She needed to think now.
Lynn watched her, the mockery slowly fading from his face and giving way to an appraising look of amusement.
This woman had more composure than he had expected.
"Very well."
Lynn returned to the throne and sat down.
"I can give you three days."
Lynn shifted into a more comfortable position, resting his chin on his hand.
"You can spend these next few days wandering around Dragon's Landing Castle. Take a look."
"Look at my army, my people, this barren land of mine."
"Then decide whether it's worth the Tyrells placing their bet."
"Don't worry. Even if you refuse or change your mind, I won't hurt you.
