The torchlight flickered in the cellar.
Lynn had left.
Only Jaime, Brienne, The Hound, and those twenty "new colleagues" in snow-white cloaks, with eerie blue light burning in their eye sockets, remained.
Dead silence.
Brienne's face was deathly pale, and she gripped her sword hilt tightly.
She was a warrior, accustomed to life and death, but these things before her went beyond everything she understood about either.
The shock was no less than what that Shadow Assassin had inflicted on her.
This was nothing less than a desecration of all life.
Sandor Clegane, The Hound, wore an entirely different expression.
He studied the motionless "monsters" with interest.
"Interesting," he rumbled.
"They don't need food, don't cry out in pain, and keep moving even after their heads are cut off. They really are the best guards."
Jaime Lannister said nothing.
He simply stared fixedly at the undead guard before him, his breathing quickening, his chest heaving.
After the shock, an almost mad idea took root in his mind and began growing at an unstoppable pace!
Suddenly.
He began to laugh.
At first, it was a low chuckle, then it became unrestrained laughter.
"Ha... hahahaha!"
His laughter echoed through the cellar, jarring and strange.
Brienne and The Hound both looked at him as though he had lost his mind.
"What are you laughing at?" The Hound frowned.
Jaime's laughter stopped abruptly.
He turned his head, an almost deranged fire burning in his green eyes!
"I'm laughing because I've finally found it."
"Found what?"
"What will take me to the pinnacle."
Shing!
Jaime drew his longsword and pointed its tip at the nearest White Walker.
"You."
"Come here. Attack me."
Brienne's pupils contracted sharply!
"You mad Lannister!" she cried out.
The Hound grimaced too, wondering whether the blond lad had lost his wits.
