After the fireworks ended, everyone cleaned up the debris and went off to bed.
Chen Yu, however, went to the launch site and surveyed the slightly messy area by moonlight.
The fireworks had been a last-minute addition, and their production had been rushed. After they exploded, a strong smell of gunpowder lingered in the area.
"If only we could develop explosives. I've got plenty of little gadgets that need the stuff. Speaking of little gadgets..." Chen Yu murmured. Something suddenly came to mind, and then he went inside to sleep.
The next day, Chen Yu found some paper and a pen and drew long, rounded shapes, along with transparent views of the overall structure and small mechanical components.
He did not know whether it would work, but he might as well try. He still had a few months, anyway.
He handed some of the blueprints to Senku and old Kaseki and asked them to make the parts. If they were too busy, they could start with a few models to test things out. There was no rush.
Kaseki studied the blueprints in his hands. The molds depicted on them looked fascinating, and excitement filled him.
Senku, on the other hand, stared at the blueprints in silence.
"You really intend to make this?" Senku asked Chen Yu evenly.
"Of course. If we can make it, we should. You don't have to use it, but... you can't afford not to have it, right?" Chen Yu replied with a smile.
When he had developed the Sword Box, it had given him an overwhelming advantage in this stone world, but he was unwilling to use it. If he could make this, it would be an even greater deterrent than his own fighting prowess.
After all, no modern person was unaware of this thing's power.
