After circling the nearby skies several times in his Flying Boat and finding nothing, Wang Yu leaped straight down from the air.
Thud!
His feet slammed onto a patch of open ground amid the ruins, sending dirt flying and leaving a pit roughly a foot deep.
Standing in the pit, Wang Yu patted the Spirit Beast Bag at his waist. Two black shadows, one large and one small, sprang out of its opening. They were Big Green and Little White.
"Go and see whether there are any other Demon Beasts nearby," Wang Yu ordered. The two Spirit Beasts immediately understood and shot off in opposite directions, plunging into the dense woods on either side of the ruins.
Wang Yu also formed a hand seal with one hand and released his vast Divine Sense, enveloping the entire ruined village as he began his search.
A moment later, his brow furrowed. He had noticed something wrong.
Judging by the size of these charred ruins, at least a hundred people should have lived here. Why had he seen no bodies?
Setting his doubts aside, Wang Yu sent out another four or five strands of Divine Thought and examined the ruins bit by bit, looking for anything else of value.
Suddenly, he let out a surprised "Hm?" and walked toward a nearby ruined house with only half an earthen wall remaining. He drew a deep breath, then punched through the air.
Boom!
A pale golden fist shadow flashed and vanished. The ruined house exploded in an instant, scattering countless clods of earth and splinters of wood in every direction and exposing the ground buried beneath it.
There lay a male corpse with only half its body remaining, and sprawled atop it was the carcass of a Demon Beast roughly three feet long.
