Unlike the mid- and high-tier mecha nearby, the Earth Dragon Type I that Wang Yu piloted was a basic model. Not only was it a head shorter than the surrounding mecha, but its bulbous head and boxy torso also looked exceedingly crude.
Fortunately, the enormous silver gun in its hands and the golden serrated blade on its back still looked somewhat imposing. Otherwise, sandwiched between those towering mecha, it really would have looked like a toy.
Some of the players in the nearby mecha occasionally peered through their cockpit windows at this basic model, most wearing odd or amused expressions.
Star River had been live for over a year. After all that time, players still using basic-model mecha were few and far between.
Besides, bounty instances tested a player's combat prowess more than any other instances in the game. How many kills and merit points they could earn depended almost entirely on their piloting skills and their mecha's performance.
By now, Wang Yu had already established a neural link with the Earth Dragon. Though the mecha itself had no wings, flames burst from both feet, propelling it straight toward the charging Nebula Beasts.
This was unlike the NPC mecha ahead, which fought in squads of four or five.
Some player mecha formed teams of a dozen or more and held their ground in formation against the Nebula Beasts, while others cooperated in groups of seven or eight. But a few lone mecha ignored everything else and charged straight into the beast horde, just as Wang Yu did.
"These useless idiots don't even try to cooperate! Have they come here to die?" At this sight, the organized players began loudly complaining in the instance's temporary comms group.
"Aren't lone wolves always like that? They don't care whether we clear the instance.
