As expected, most of the materials displayed in the first-floor hall were ordinary, common first-tier materials such as iron essence and jade crystal. There were even a few stalks of spirit bamboo soaking in spirit liquid.
Two objects resembling magical artifacts, however, had rather unusual shapes, prompting Wang Yu to give them a few extra glances.
One was a miniature yellow pavilion, only half a foot tall yet divided into three stories. Its carvings were exquisitely detailed, and it seemed to be made of spirit wood.
The other was a tiny, pitch-black iron ox, so lifelike that it looked like a real ox shrunk down to size.
"Senior, you have a fine eye. These two items are the most expensive things on this floor.
"The first is called the Cloud-Shrinking Pavilion and comes from the Heavenly Craft Sect. Simply recite the incantation and toss it out, and it will expand into a full-sized pavilion, complete with every facility needed for daily life and a set of defensive restrictive seals. It is an essential item for anyone spending long periods away from home.
"The second is called the Iron Reliance Ox, and it comes from the local Spirit Reliance Sect. Once a cultivator injects a little dharma power into it, it will grow to the size of a real ox. It can carry a thousand jin, plow fields, and turn millstones, making it the ideal helper for cultivating certain special spirit fields." Seeing his interest, the young woman hurried a few steps forward and explained the items to Wang Yu.
"I know of the Spirit Reliance Sect, of course, and I've heard of the Heavenly Craft Sect as well. Both seem to specialize in refining puppets, but I'm not sure exactly how they differ," Wang Yu asked noncommittally.
"Well..." The young
