Hui Ming sat atop the mountain of corpses, his black hair hanging down over half his face.
He raised a hand and waved it casually.
The demonic beasts parted neatly to either side, clearing a path from the hall doors straight to the foot of the corpse mountain.
"Sit down."
Hui Ming spoke lazily. "Why are you standing so far away?"
Outside the hall doors, Xie Changsheng frowned at the hall full of demonic beasts. The others did not move either.
Only Si Chen smiled and strode inside.
Black Mountain grew anxious. "Brother! You-"
Si Chen did not stop. He walked openly between the two rows of demonic beasts, which growled deep in their throats like low-level beasts without intelligence.
Red Bean crouched on his shoulder, turning that little head this way and that, looking around curiously.
Hui Ming's eyes brightened slightly.
"You really are different."
He patted the spot beside him, where several recently dead bodies lay piled, their blood not yet fully dry.
"Come up and sit for a while?"
Si Chen shook his head. "Here is fine."
He reached into his Storage Ring, rummaged around, and pulled out a chair.
The chair was finely crafted from carved rosewood, with the emblem of the Joyous Union Sect's Dining Hall engraved on its back.
A small white lotus in full bloom.
Si Chen sat down in the chair and even adjusted his posture, looking quite comfortable.
At the sight, the corner of Black Mountain's mouth twitched.
That was the chair he had brought out of the Joyous Union Sect's Dining Hall and left with Si Chen. The Dining Hall's head chef had made it himself. It was especially comfortable, and Black Mountain loved it!
Usually, he could not even bear to sit in it, leaving it with Si Chen
