Wu Qian's words were soft, yet they seemed all the more like she had completely let go of certain things.
It seemed there was no longer anything that could trouble her or put her ill at ease.
Su Mo looked at Wu Qian, who had completely let go, and slowly smiled, shaking his head. "I have no interest in prying into other people's secrets."
Wu Qian gazed at Su Mo, raised a hand to brush back the hair beside her cheek, and turned toward the rising sun.
"Do you still remember why that Ghost-Eyed Divine Flood Dragon didn't attack us when we first entered the Forbidden Land, young master?"
Su Mo looked at Wu Qian beneath the sun's rosy glow, feeling for a moment as though he could no longer understand her.
"I don't!"
Wu Qian turned back and smiled softly. "It was because it saw Qian'er."
Su Mo showed no surprise and merely nodded.
He had long since noticed that, though the Ghost-Eyed Divine Flood Dragon's gaze had remained fixed on him, it had actually been looking at Wu Qian behind him.
Wu Qian slowly walked up to Su Mo and asked in puzzlement, "Aren't you curious, young master?"
"I am," Su Mo answered.
Hearing his answer, Wu Qian smiled softly again and asked once more, "Do you know why I chose to follow you, young master?"
Su Mo shook his head.
Wu Qian looked intently at Su Mo, her eyes filled with mystery. "It was because you carry an aura that makes Qian'er feel very comfortable. That aura has certain similarities to Qian'er's."
Su Mo froze. "What aura?"
Wu Qian slowly said to him, "The aura of all things have spirits..."
Su Mo abruptly went still, staring at Wu Qian in disbelief.
Only he and the Divine Maiden
