"How time flies! I never imagined four days would pass while I was setting up just a hundred and seventy spiritual arrays!"
Xiao Tian Ce glanced into the distance, then mused inwardly.
There was one day left until the time he, Mo Yang, and the others had agreed to begin the battle. Tomorrow, when sunlight spilled over the land, their war with the True Phoenix Clan would begin.
At that thought, Xiao Tian Ce used his soul power to sense the hundred and seventy-odd spiritual arrays he had buried throughout the True Phoenix Clan Ancestral Grounds. None had been destroyed or discovered; they still lay quietly underground.
Once the battle began tomorrow, he only needed to have his people use them carefully, and they would surely give the True Phoenix Clan a tremendous surprise.
The corners of Xiao Tian Ce's mouth curled upward as he murmured, "Since you're ready to kill us too, perfect. Let's give it a try and see whether your True Phoenix Clan keeps us here tomorrow, or whether we slaughter our way through you."
With that, Xiao Tian Ce's figure flickered, and he vanished a moment later.
Yet only seconds after he left, a True Phoenix Clan guard nearby seemed to sense something amiss. When he looked over, however, he found nothing.
"Did you find something?"
A guard beside him asked.
"No, nothing. Maybe staying constantly alert these past few days has made everything seem suspicious," the guard said, quickly shaking his head.
"Good, then. Keep patrolling. I don't know how much longer the clan chief and Young Clan Chief Chang He want us to keep this up, but I doubt it'll last much longer," the other guard said with a nod.
"All right!"
Xiao Tian Ce heard every word of their conversation.
