None of them spoke after hearing this. Huang Chengquan said, "Since no one has any objections, let Fellow Daoist Gu keep this python!"

Once Gu Zifeng had put away the python, the group continued toward the tall peak ahead under Huang Chengquan's lead.

On the way, they encountered another third-tier Black Ape Bear. Before Xu Qingtong could act, Huang Chengquan raised his sword and brought it down, severing its head in just a few strokes.

As Xu Qingtong walked, he studied Gu Zifeng ahead out of the corner of his eye. The man did indeed have the ability to justify his arrogance. His Golden Blade Shadow was tremendously powerful, even seeming to faintly surpass Xu Qingtong's Rushou Seal.

Spells of such power were rare in Qing and Bing Provinces. Xu Qingtong silently considered that, given the chance, he had to obtain some spells of this kind and bring them back to the Sect.

As they walked, a bamboo grove appeared before them. Huang Chengquan stopped, turned, and said to the others, "Fellow Daoists, there may be something strange about this bamboo grove. I sense some danger. What do you think?"

Gu Zifeng stepped forward, examined it, and said, "This is ink cloud bamboo. Though it isn't a high-grade artifact refining material, its age makes up for that. I reckon it's at least eight hundred years old!"

As he spoke, he cautiously approached and swung his fly-whisk, wrapping it around one of the stalks.

Suddenly, a volley of green arrows shot from the bamboo grove, hurtling toward Gu Zifeng as fast as lightning.

Fortunately, Gu Zifeng had been on full alert all along. Seeing that something was wrong, he promptly deployed a piece of Tortoiseshell in front of himself.

Amid a series of metallic clinks and clangs, every arrow was blocked.
