The eerie glow circled in the air for a moment, then slowly contracted, returning to the iron box within a few breaths.
He studied it cautiously and found that the black glow didn't seem harmful.
So he edged over carefully, growing bolder as he approached the iron box again.
Looking down, he saw a six-foot-long blade lying quietly inside.
The blade was a foot wide, engraved with mysterious totem patterns, and its edge gleamed silver.
Only... something about this blade looked a little off.
Black mist wreathed the entire blade, its special effects cranked to the max, as though it had grown a thick coat of black fur!
"Damn, this thing looks pretty badass!"
Chun Xiaobai clicked his tongue in wonder, reached out, and grabbed the blade.
The next instant, his entire body lurched downward!
"Holy shit! It's heavy!"
To his horror, he discovered that this unassuming blade weighed at least five thousand catties!
"Son of a bitch! Could this be a Heaven Tier magical artifact?"
After all, the other treasures had turned into scrap metal after ten thousand years, but aside from growing a layer of black fur, this blade utterly trounced every magical artifact he had ever seen, in both appearance and feel!
Thrilled, Chun Xiaobai gave it a casual swing!
Whoosh-
A solid jet-black arc of blade energy instantly shot from the blade and slammed into the opposite cave wall!
Boom!
Stone chips flew everywhere as a terrifying gash ten feet deep was carved into the wall, and loose rocks came raining down from overhead.
"Holy shit! Is this place going to collapse?"
Chun Xiaobai jumped in fright. Fortunately, only some loose rocks fell, and the cave showed no signs of collapsing.
He looked down at the great blade in his hand, his eyes burning with desire.
