Houtu watched Yingning being brutally slaughtered in the sky, yet for some reason, her heart clenched.
They had clearly never met before, but she felt as though she had known this girl for a long time.
"Even if she's a great god... this is going too far. I won't stand for it!"
Houtu hesitated for only a moment before shooting into the air.
Everyone said Nüwa was a great god of the Upper Realm. Surely she couldn't be completely unreasonable.
Before Houtu had flown a hundred feet, the Flame Emperor swiftly rose and firmly blocked her path in midair.
"Tu'er, what are you doing?!"
"Elder Ancestor! What are you all doing? Go save them!"
"Don't be foolish!" With a forceful tug, the Flame Emperor pulled Houtu straight down to the ground. "The great god of the Upper Realm wants them dead. Nothing we do can change that!"
"But this is wrong!" Houtu said, her face full of bewilderment. "Those two aren't bad people! Why should they die?"
"Tu'er!" the Flame Emperor roared. "I don't care why they have to die. All I know is that I cannot let you throw your life away!"

Yingning gasped for breath, the pain throughout her body almost enough to make her pass out.
Nüwa seemed to have had her fill of playing, too. The corners of her lips lifted slightly before she slowly spoke:
"You toy with the entire world in the palms of your hands. It truly infuriates me. Every Supreme Pivot in this world deserves to..."
Hearing Nüwa speak, Dong Qianqiu sucked in a sharp breath.
But before Nüwa could say "die," a hand gently covered her mouth.
Everyone looked up to find that a second figure had appeared in the Rift in the sky.
Like Nüwa, this
