Inside the little wooden cabin on Heaven-Reaching Peak.
"Chomp, chomp, chomp!!!"
Qingfeng hugged the cooking pot and ate with his head buried in it.
That posture, that racket.
Li Ping'an had only ever seen anything like it when feeding pigs.
The main hall on Heaven-Reaching Peak had long since been blown up, so the peak's only two residents now lived in this tiny wooden cabin.
So Li Ping'an planned to build a new house.
The cabin was too small. Even a fart could be heard, making everything inconvenient.
Li Ping'an told Qingfeng about it.
Qingfeng nodded. "Then hurry up and move out. After all, a lone man and woman living together like this won't do.
"As it happens, I'll be going away for a few days tomorrow. Without me to look after you, take care of yourself..."
Li Ping'an grumbled inwardly. Aren't I usually the one looking after you?
Just how did you say that without blushing or missing a breath?
Early the next morning, before the sun had risen.
Li Ping'an brought Old Ox and Run Tu along and got to work.
Logs were stacked in neat piles. Fortunately, Heaven-Reaching Peak wasn't entirely devoid of resources.
At least trees still covered its slopes.
"Old Ox, Run Tu, get ready to work!!"
"Old Ox, tell us the essentials of building a house."
Old Ox stepped forward proudly. It was an undisputed expert in housebuilding.
It had thoroughly studied all manner of architectural books, including Official Construction Methods, Treatise on Superfluous Things, The Craft of Gardens, Records of Construction Sections, and more.
Old Ox pulled a blueprint from its bosom.
Li Ping'an nodded thoughtfully. "We'll build it like this. I'll go find some helpers!"
After all, all those cash gifts he had given to maintain social ties hadn't been for nothing.
