The moment the giant python appeared, the bustling street, where people had flowed like woven threads, immediately cleared to either side.
But some were slow to get out of the way, such as the child crying by the roadside.
The great black snake swung its head and swished its tail, its body winding slowly along like an immense black river.
It looked this way and that, sometimes moving leisurely, sometimes arrogantly waving its tail at passersby and hissing.
The dozen or so people accompanying the giant python were even more overbearing.
They showed no intention whatsoever of stopping it.
They were like immortals high above the world, walking among worthless weeds.
Seeing the child crying by the roadside, the giant python's eyes flashed.
Its enormous tail swept straight at the child.
It was about to smash into the child's body.
The old man at the tea stall had been about to tell the man in blue robes before him what had happened recently.
But at the sudden sight, he held his breath, his eyes widening and his mouth falling open.
He could already foresee what would happen next. That child was certain to be smashed into a pulp.

A silvery-white light suddenly flashed past, like a meteor falling from the sky.
It slammed into the giant python.
"Aah...!!!"
The giant python let out a scream, its body swaying as it exhaled a long breath.
Suddenly, it pitched forward and crashed to the ground with a thud, bloody bubbles spilling from its mouth.
"Aah!!"
"What happened?"
"Hey, don't pull me! Let me watch a little longer."
"Run! Stop fucking watching! You just have to watch the trouble get bigger, don't you? We'll get caught up in it in a moment."
