At night, firelight flickered in the wind, brightening and dimming.
Occasionally, a fierce gust swept past, stirring up a cloud of yellow dust.
It howled across a desolate landscape.
Inside a tattered tent, a small wood fire burned weakly.
A plump rabbit and a pheasant roasted over it, their rich, meaty aroma filling the air.
There were only a man and an ox inside the tent.
Li Ping'an had brought his own tent. The other tents each housed three to five people.
Because of Old Ox's enormous bulk, this tent barely had room for Li Ping'an alone.
Someone had wanted to squeeze in with Li Ping'an, but Li Ping'an had said there was no room.
The man had told Li Ping'an to simply lead the ox outside. An ox was a beast; why would it fear wind and sand?
Li Ping'an had said, "He's not a beast. He's family."
Under Li Ping'an's control, the Drizzle Sword slowly flew over the rabbit meat. With a little pressure, it separated one piece from another.
After these days of cultivation, Li Ping'an could already exercise simple control over the Drizzle Sword to perform a few everyday tasks.
But using the sword to wound someone might still take some time.
Destiny: [Diligence Can Make Up for Clumsiness achievement attained: modest accomplishment] [When reading or cultivating, the longer the time spent, the faster the cultivation speed gained] [Maximum increased from twice normal cultivation speed to three times]
A thought flashed through his mind.
Li Ping'an contemplated the Nirvana Sutra for a while. Sure enough, he made greater progress than before.
"Moo!"
Old Ox bellowed in displeasure.
Li Ping'an came back to himself and only then realized that, because his awareness had sunk inward-
-the Drizzle Sword had begun dancing wildly and accidentally stabbed
