Hu Tutu had no idea just how powerful her eldest senior brother was, but his morning grumpiness alone had subdued her incredibly powerful second and fourth senior brothers. He had to be super powerful!
So she wasn't scared in the slightest!
"You stinking bird up there! My eldest senior brother is a super-powerful Qi Refining expert!" Hu Tutu shouted up at the Three-Headed Monster Bird, brimming with confidence.
Ouyang stared in exasperation at Hu Tutu, who was hiding in his back basket and waving the flag for him.
He knew his little junior sister was trying to cheer him on, but no matter how he listened to it, it sounded like she was calling him a useless weakling at the Qi Refining Stage!
Ouyang turned to look at the Three-Headed Monster Bird in the sky.
Name: Three-Headed Monster Bird (failed bloodline awakening) Cultivation: Nascent Soul, sixth level Root bone: 4 Charm: 1 Luck: 1 Special aptitude: None Exclusive skills: None Evaluation: Ants do not merit an evaluation.
Only after seeing the Three-Headed Monster Bird's status panel did Ouyang relax. It was nothing but an ant!
The Three-Headed Monster Bird in the sky seemed to sense Ouyang's contemptuous gaze.
Its three heads swayed wildly, then abruptly rose and opened their beaks toward Ouyang.
One head spewed blazing fire, another spat fierce winds, and the middle head sprayed acid with a stomach-turning stench.
When the flames touched the acid, the blaze instantly surged, further fanned by the fierce winds from the other head.
In an instant, the entire sky became a sea of fire!
"Oh, a good-for-nothing that understands physics!" Ouyang remarked in surprise as he watched the monster bird unleash its combined spell.
But it was no use.
Without any hurry, Ouyang took out a book and studied it carefully. Understanding dawned on him at once.
After memorizing the circulation route for his true qi, he casually tossed the book aside, slammed his hands together, and shouted, "Water dragon!"
The ocean-like true qi within his body surged into motion, and billowing water vapor churned around Ouyang.
"ROAR!"
An enormous water dragon rose from the ground, swelling as it met the wind.
It charged unstoppably toward the monster bird in the sky, while the vapor shrouding its body swept toward the sea of fire.
As though it had met its natural nemesis, the fire filling the sky was instantly extinguished by the vapor.
The enormous water dragon raised its head, pinned the Three-Headed Monster Bird down hard with a claw, and bit down.
Before the monster bird could utter even a single mournful cry, the dragon swallowed it whole.
After swallowing the monster bird, the dragon swayed through the sky, seemingly delighted by its newfound life.
Its eyes, originally formed from water vapor, slowly gained a spark of awareness.
A faint pressure belonging to dragonkind began to emerge from the water dragon!
This dragon was about to receive the finishing touch that brought it to life!
Ouyang frowned at the water dragon swaying overhead, sensing the true qi steadily draining from his body.
Although the draining true qi couldn't even keep pace with his recovery, much less make a dent in his reserves of over nine hundred million, the water dragon clearly no longer wanted to obey him!
This happened every time he used Spell Arts. As he kept using them, the Spell Arts he conjured would stop listening to him!
Ouyang snorted, raised a hand, and barked coldly, "Wretched beast! Reveal your true form!"
Then Ouyang severed the connection between the water dragon and his true qi.
The instant the connection was severed, the water dragon gave a mournful cry and dissolved into mist that rained down from the sky.
The Three-Headed Monster Bird's corpse fell with it!
Hiding in the back basket, Hu Tutu watched her eldest senior brother, who seemed like a god before her, and the little stars in her eyes shone even brighter.
She had known he was powerful, but she hadn't imagined he was this powerful!
He actually knew such an incredible water-element escape art!
The water dragon he had summoned looked real. For a moment, she had even felt what seemed like the pressure of a genuine dragon, and she had nearly wet her pants!
"You're amazing, eldest senior brother!" Hu Tutu clapped wildly, showering Ouyang with praise like a frenzied little fangirl.
Hearing his little junior sister's adoring cries, Ouyang planted his hands on his hips without a shred of shame, tipped his head back, and laughed. "Hahahaha!"
Hu Tutu climbed out of the back basket and darted toward the secret manual Ouyang had casually tossed aside.
The secret manual her eldest senior brother had just consulted had to contain some supreme cultivation art!
With a crafty gleam, Hu Tutu picked up the secret manual and eagerly opened the book, which glowed like a golden legendary treasure in her eyes.
Several large, crooked words were written on the manual:
"Complete Beginner’s Guide to the Five-Element Escape Arts"
"Huh? What's with this title?" Hu Tutu's heart sank. She flipped through the book. Every spell in it was a simple Qi Refining spell.
There were at least eight thousand Spell Arts like these, if not ten thousand. They even circulated in ordinary human kingdoms!
This wasn't a secret manual at all!
Wait, could the secret manual be hidden within this perfectly ordinary beginner's Spell Arts book? Inspiration flashed through Hu Tutu's mind, and she immediately admired her own brilliant intellect.
That's me all right! So clever!
Holding the secret manual above her head as though she had found a priceless treasure, Hu Tutu raced toward Ouyang on her little legs, shouting as though claiming credit, "Eldest senior brother, your supreme Spell Arts manual!"
Ouyang was still standing smugly with his hands on his hips, basking in the pleasure of showing off, when Hu Tutu thrust the Complete Beginner’s Guide to the Five-Element Escape Arts he had just tossed aside right in front of his face.
Ouyang gave an awkward cough and, under Hu Tutu's excited gaze, put away the secret manual he had been using to prop up a table leg.
After all, it was better if his junior sister didn't find out that he could only learn Qi Refining Stage Spell Arts!
Even if the power he unleashed didn't resemble that of a Qi Refining spell, the spell itself was still a genuine Qi Refining spell through and through.
When faced with higher-level Spell Arts, his low cultivation left him feeling as though he were reading a book from heaven. He couldn't understand a thing.
Even with these Qi Refining Stage Spell Arts, the moment he used one, he instantly forgot its true qi circulation route.
Without consulting the book again, he couldn't cast it a second time.
He had once asked his master about it, too.
His master had merely wagged his head and said, "The Dharma must not reach six ears!"
Those old geezers just loved spouting mysterious nonsense to make themselves look impressive!
Ouyang could only conclude that the root cause was his utterly disastrous talent for Spell Arts.
So whenever he hadn't consulted this book, his only means of attack was to unleash the purest true qi in a direct burst.
In short: "Qi Burst!"
He wasn't some alien monkey. Fighting like this made him look completely lacking in technical skill.
"Eldest senior brother, was that a secret water escape spell passed down in the Azure Cloud Sect?" Hu Tutu asked, gazing at Ouyang with adoration.
Ouyang coughed and said quietly, "Of course it was. Your senior brother is a legendary little Spell Arts genius!"
"Waa... ow..." Hu Tutu's mouth fell open, and she let out a dazed exclamation.
Satisfied with having successfully won his junior sister's admiration, Ouyang took his little tagalong by the hand and said, "Come on. Let's see whether the trap caught a fox."
