These are skills?

The next moment, a flood of spell knowledge surged into his mind. He began to understand-the ball of light outside was basically a zip file.

It held a whole bunch of files inside. There was just one thing that puzzled him.

Why were these all healing and buff skills? Was he supposed to become a healer?

He suddenly understood why the knowledge granted by Divine Art: Chapter of Life had included that line: "Life shall be inscribed upon your fingertips."

Of course it would be inscribed on his fingertips. Dozens of skills, all for healing and buffing people. But he wanted to deal damage! A healer who didn't want to be a damage dealer wasn't a good healer.

As though a god had answered his thoughts, another pale golden ball of light appeared before him: Divine Art: Life Judgment. Eros's eyes lit up.

The name alone told him it had to be a damage-dealing skill. Once the orb entered his mind and decompressed, the dozens of skills that appeared were indeed all offensive.

Only then did he nod in satisfaction. After all, what kind of damage dealer couldn't heal people?

Another ball of light appeared next. Unfortunately, this one was a passive skill: Divine Art: Nature's Protection.

But after reading its effects, he was a little stunned. This passive was ridiculously powerful. Apparently, as long as he was out in the wilderness, he would receive a boost to all his attributes.

This was great! Whenever he headed out into the wilds, he'd have a permanent buff on him. Love it. Was elven blood really this powerful? He couldn't praise it enough.

The next orb surprised him, however-not just because it was pitch-black, but also because of the skill it contained: Divine Art: Eternal Night Judgment.

He had assumed that since he had awakened the Elf Race's bloodline, all the skills he learned would belong to the Elf Race.

But apparently, that wasn't the case. All he could say was that being of mixed blood was wonderful.

Looking at the new skills in his mind, Eros nodded in satisfaction again. He was getting closer and closer to becoming a fighter with no weaknesses.

Just like the Night Bloodline, Elf Blood had only three orbs.

Of the remaining two orbs, one was Servant of Secrets, which he had heard about from his dad, and the other was called Divine Art: Night's Protection. Both were passive skills.

Divine Art: Night's Protection was just as incredible as Divine Art: Nature's Protection. As long as it was nighttime, he would receive a boost to all his attributes.

Didn't that mean he'd get a boost in that department at night, too?

So he'd be at his strongest out in the wilderness at night? Damn, this skill combination was outrageous. He loved it.

After he received those six orbs, the gray mist in the Gray Mist Space gradually dispersed, and the space began to overlap with the temple hall outside.

At the sight, Eros immediately understood that the Bloodline Baptism must be nearly over.

But just then, two milky-white orbs suddenly appeared in front of him and forced their way into his mind.

The next second, the spaces overlapped completely.

Seated in the temple hall, Eros slowly opened his eyes and shook his head, which felt swollen and heavy.

Just now, it had felt as though something had pressed down on those two milky-white orbs and forcibly shoved them into his mind.

It was completely different from what he had felt when he touched the previous six orbs.

Once the pressure in his head eased a little, he turned his attention to examining the two orbs that had been forced into his mind.

They were also two skills, with no introductions or explanations, only names: Divine Art: Deep Sea's Blessing and Divine Art: Deep Sea's Breath. He was baffled. Where had these two skills come from?

He had never heard his dad mention that their family had any connection to the sea, either.

He suddenly remembered the strange, enormous eyeball he had seen after entering the green orb. Could it have been that?

Remembering that bizarre thing covered in eyeballs made Eros feel distinctly uneasy.

He immediately shook his head, trying to shake the image out of his mind.

After steadying himself, he looked toward the elders nearby. Their faces were filled with excitement, agitation, and anticipation; they wanted to approach, yet didn't dare.

A little curious, he asked, "The ritual should be over now, right? Can I move?"

The group of old men with graying hair and beards let out a sigh of relief when they heard Eros speak.

Realizing that the Great One must have left for good, they immediately crowded around him.

One old man, his eyes brimming with affection, said excitedly:

"Little Eros, how did you do it? You actually got that Great One of the Elf Race to perform your baptism personally!"

Before he could finish, the man beside him shoved him aside and leaned in toward Eros, his face equally affectionate.

"Little Eros, tell your great-uncle what it felt like to be baptized personally by a Great One."

He, too, was pushed aside by someone else before he could finish. Truly, those who shoved others were themselves destined to be shoved.

The great-uncle of Eros, who had been pushed away, was still shouting, "Ryan, why are you pushing me?"

The elder named Ryan ignored him entirely. He likewise leaned toward Eros and asked with a cheerful smile:

"Little Eros, did that Great One mention when our revered ancestor would return?"

At that question, the room suddenly fell silent. Everyone looked at Eros with eager eyes.

After hearing that barrage of questions, Eros was a little dazed. He needed to sort out his thoughts first.

So that gentle, white-haired woman he'd met was a god???? He barely managed to keep himself from blurting out, "Holy shit."

He'd just met one of the beings at the very pinnacle of this world, just like that?

Luckily, that god probably hadn't known what he was thinking at the time. Probably... hadn't, right???

Otherwise, even with a bloodline from the Elf Race, he probably would have been strangled to death.

Still, being stared at so eagerly by a whole crowd of old men with graying hair and beards was enough to make even Eros feel a little unnerved.

He immediately gave a dry cough, gathered his thoughts, and shook his head.

"She didn't mention it. I only just found out myself that she was a god."

The old men were all somewhat disappointed, but they soon recovered. After all, they had already endured tens of thousands of years; waiting longer hardly frightened them.

Their earlier enthusiasm for bombarding him with questions was gone, however, and someone spoke up.

"In that case, let us now ask the revered divine artifact to conceal little Eros's fate!"

Everyone nodded at those words and stopped crowding around Eros. One by one, they returned to their original positions, their expressions turning solemn again.

Curious, Eros glanced around and immediately spotted his dad and Estelle, who had been squeezed out of the crowd earlier and hadn't dared push their way back in.

He walked over and asked, "Dad, Mom, what's the divine artifact the great-uncles were talking about?"

Duke Renka explained with a smile, "Our ancestor left three powerful divine artifacts with the family: the Book of the Night, the Moon of Eternal Sleep, and the Eye of Eternal Night."

"The reason our family has survived to this day is precisely because of the help of those three divine artifacts."

"When your great-uncles spoke of concealing your fate, they meant using the Book of the Night. You need only record your true name in it, and even a Great One won't be able to locate you through spells."

Eros began to understand. Was this the divine artifact his dad had mentioned before, the one that worked together with Servant of Secrets?
