Hmm! The women of the Elf Race are beautiful (Tomato's rules require the protagonist to be an adult)
Eros was engrossed in his reading when a tall shadow suddenly fell over him.
He paused and turned to look, only to find his father standing behind him, accompanied by a woman who looked somewhat familiar.
When the woman noticed Eros looking at her, she smiled and curtsied to him.
"Greetings, Your Highness Eros!"
Duke Renka looked a little embarrassed. He gestured toward the woman and introduced her.
"This is Lady Flolica. You've met her before. She's your fifth sister's mother."
Eros nodded. No wonder she looked familiar.
Still, although she was the birth mother of his half sister, he really hadn't met her very often.
After all, mistresses held a low status and weren't allowed to dine at the same table as the family.
Besides, although his mother had never said anything about his father's mistresses, his father wasn't foolish enough to let them parade around in front of his lawful wife every day.
Those women therefore lived and ate in another courtyard, far from his own. The Duke's Mansion was quite large, after all; he still hadn't explored all of it.
Duke Renka looked at his son curiously and asked, "What are you reading?"
Eros closed the book, revealing the large, gold-painted title on its cover: Misty Sea Annals.
Duke Renka looked a little surprised. "I didn't realize you were interested in this sort of thing."
Eros shook his head. "I was originally looking for records about the Elf Race, but I happened to come across the Sea of Mist just now. That got me curious about it too, so I picked up this book."
Duke Renka looked puzzled. "The Elf Race hasn't appeared on the Croatia Continent in tens of thousands of years. Why are you looking for records about them?"
Eros was both surprised and delighted. He hadn't expected his father to actually know something, and immediately pressed him. "Dad, you know about the Elf Race?"
"Isn't that obvious? Our ancestors intermarried with the Elf Race back in the day. Strictly speaking, we have some elven blood in us too."
"It's just that so much time has passed, and it's been diluted with each successive generation. By now, there's probably so little of that blood left that it hardly counts."
So that was all it took to find out???
Eros was a little stunned. He'd originally thought he would have to go through all sorts of grueling ordeals.
Only then, through some lucky coincidence, would he obtain a few scraps of information, and use those tiny clues to unravel the mystery and uncover the lost Mystic Side.
Seriously! That was it? After all that searching, my own family turned out to be the biggest lead.
Without any further hesitation, he pressed on. "Then does the Elf Race have abilities that ordinary people don't? Like using magic, or some other kind of power?"
"I don't know what this magic you're talking about is, but the Elf Race is certainly different from ordinary people."
Eros's eyes lit up with anticipation. "For example?"
Duke Renka rubbed his chin. "For example, the women of the Elf Race are all exceptionally beautiful."
Eros suddenly felt as though he were having a heart attack. Sure enough, he shouldn't have expected too much from his utterly ridiculous father.
Duke Renka smiled and patted Eros's head. Then his smile faded, and his expression grew serious.
"I know what you want to ask, but this is dangerous. Even simply knowing carries a great risk."
"But since you've already become interested in those things, and you're a child of mine, Renka Orich North, I naturally won't keep them from you if you want to learn about them. Just not today. We still need to make preparations. Once you're an adult, we'll tell you everything."
With that, Duke Renka stayed no longer. He turned and left at once; there were certain things he needed to prepare now.
As for what he would do afterward, did that even need asking? He would, of course, get back to his unfinished business.
Seeing him turn to leave, Lady Flolica smiled at Eros again and curtsied before turning to follow him.
By then, however, Eros was lost in thought and forgot to return the courtesy. Still, that was hardly a big deal.
He was starting to panic. Even merely possessing knowledge carries a great risk? Why does that premise sound so much like Cthulhu?
Could I really have been reborn into a world with Cthulhu in it? No way. No way!
After worrying for a while, Eros simply gave up thinking about it.
Forget it. I'll stop thinking about it. Getting access to the Mystic Side is a good thing.
After all these years since crossing over, I'll finally get to see what this world really looks like. I just have to wait until I'm eighteen!!
As for whether things will turn out good or bad, won't I have to see it first?
Relax! Relax!
