The air in the Alchemical Workshop's laboratory still carried that familiar pungent smell. Renato had no idea how Klauthsura could stand staying here.
A lone head sat on the laboratory table.
The Female Drow's eyes had rolled upward, leaving only cloudy whites visible. The long, grayish-white hair on her head had been shaved off completely, and her skullcap was gone. Her cranial cavity was empty, with traces of dark red blood still clinging to its inner walls.
Klauthsura stood beside the laboratory bench, needlelike pupils fixed intently on a row of dark red reagents.
The Mind Flayer controlled a dropper with precise psionics, adding something to them one drop at a time.
Renato sat nearby, smacking his lips as he savored the lingering taste of the potion he had just drunk.
The newly developed Dragon Blood Elixir was thicker, and the [Adventurer's Guide] showed that its Constitution-enhancing effect had improved further. Unfortunately, it still fell short of fifteen points.
"The new potion feels stronger, Klauthsura." Unsure how to offer a hint, Renato deliberately flexed his arm for the Mind Flayer and encouraged them. "My body is very sturdy. Most drugs' side effects have no effect on me. You can leave toxicity aside for now and do whatever you think will work."
Klauthsura set down the dropper and turned around.
"But I am no longer performing any additional processing on the Dragonkind tissue." As the Mind Flayer spoke, they picked up a silk handkerchief and gently wiped a trace of blood from their tentacles. "The most significant difference between the Type III Dragon Blood Enhancement Elixir and Type II is the removal of the step in the alchemical process that separates out toxic substances."
"In other words, the potion you just drank already contained every natural component of True Dragon blood."
