The instant he pushed the door open, Zeng Mu could not believe what he saw.
Cobert was tied to a chair, his face crimson and his body covered in purple, giving off a foul, pungent odor.
His head hung down and his eyes were shut tight. He seemed unconscious, perhaps beaten so severely that he had fainted or gone into shock.
Zeng Mu nearly lost control of himself. He turned toward the men in black inside the room, clenching his fists and preparing to attack, when a voice interrupted him:
"Don't worry, Lord Nameless. He's perfectly fine."
He turned around to find a middle-aged woman before him, voluptuous, with waist-length hair, a full bust, and broad hips. Her splendid clothes and jewels complemented her fragrance, lending her an almost divine air. A single glance was enough to dispel his irritation. She was like a wax figure gently sculpted by time, leaving him unable to stir up even the slightest agitation.
He looked at the woman and murmured, "You are?"
"Allow me to introduce myself," she said, approaching and extending her hand. "My name is Viana. I'm Bruce's wife."
"Oh? Mrs. Bruce, then? Hello." Zeng Mu reached out and lightly shook her hand. Her palm was exquisitely smooth, as though formed from flowing stream water.
"Uncle Bert..."
"Don't worry," she said with a wave. "He's fine. The smell just knocked him out. Look."
Following her over to Cobert, Zeng Mu finally realized that the substances on his face and body were not blood, but a medicinal liquid.
"This is a pungent Six Harmonies Potion that can knock people out with its fumes. Applying it to the face also causes a burning sensation. Just look at his face-it's as red and hot as if someone poured boiling water over it. Haha."
"Whew..."
