| Willful Realm — increased elemental power | 29 | Exposure to the Snake King’s Elemental Source healed his wounds overnight and strengthened his elemental power. No further realm advancement is stated. |
Background / History
Yetos enlisted at sixteen and became a commander at twenty. By the defense of Sand City, he is described as having spent nineteen years fighting and developing the battlefield judgment behind his usually accurate predictions 44.
Many years earlier, a comrade helped him obtain the benefits of an Elemental Source, enabling his advancement into the Willful Realm. That comrade subsequently died in a war, killed by Qin Zihui—the general who later commands the Seven Kingdoms Coalition against Sand City 29.
Appearance
Yetos has a robust build and a composed, authoritative bearing 41.
- Eyes: Usually steady and resolute; emerald or blue-green light flashes through them when he uses elemental power 9 24 29.
- Elemental Mark: Appears on his forehead and glows while channeling or absorbing Wood elemental energy 24 28.
- Battle attire: Wears armor and carries a heavy sword on his back; fights without a helmet during the snake attack 11 26.
- Formal attire: Wears an elegant black-and-purple outfit when receiving Soxia, giving him the appearance of a noble prince rather than a legion commander 41.
Personality
Yetos is practical and generally composed. Kanni trusts his assessment of Zeng Mu’s strength because he considers Yetos unlikely to make empty boasts. Yetos also stresses emotional discipline, telling Zeng Mu that rational judgment is necessary to use an Elementalist’s power properly 30 48.
His caution serves the survival of his soldiers rather than a reluctance to fight. He keeps ordinary knights indoors during the snake crisis, seeks to drive away the Snake King rather than incur unnecessary losses, and orders a defensive stand when darkness and inferior numbers make a sortie dangerous. The sparrow attack’s casualty register leaves him visibly saddened 22 25 46.
He is willing to ambush enemies and exploit their exhaustion or distraction. In combat, his calm manner often gives way to sneers and pointed insults, particularly when confronting Idiveer and Qin Zihui 10 11 48.
Abilities & Skills
Wood Elemental Manipulation
Yetos controls plants and projects destructive green elemental energy 11 13 25 48.
- Poisonous restraints: Binds Viking warriors with vines whose sap causes dizziness and disorientation 11.
- Offensive growth: Raises green spikes from the ground to tear through the snake tide 25.
- Energy blasts: Fires beams capable of severely injuring Idiveer and killing groups of ordinary soldiers 12 13 48.
- Terrain control: Weaves branches across a chasm and moves roots and low branches aside to clear a route through the Withered Forest 11 13.
- Transport: Uses roots to lift people to a tower or lower them safely; splits a tree into rough wooden boats and propels them toward the main force 13 24 25.
- Limits: Idiveer’s elemental storm prevents him from projecting power beyond his body to support other fighters. Repeated large-scale attacks also drain the reserves he needs for stronger opponents 11 25 48.
Elemental Armor
Yetos forms tightly interlocking, green-glowing branch armor over his allies’ iron armor 25.
- Describes the armor as solid as rock and impervious to poison 25.
- Protects the assault party from the Yellow Sand Diamondback Snakes’ fangs and venom 25 26.
- Can extend into a protective arc over a helmet to shield the wearer’s face 26.
Healing, Concealment & Support
Yetos uses elemental power for protection and assistance beyond direct combat 9 11 13 28.
- Wound suppression: Temporarily closes his injured shoulder with green elemental energy 9 11.
- Concealment: Hides himself and accompanying knights from Idiveer; maintaining concealment interferes with his wound’s recovery 9.
- Combat reinforcement: Sends energy to a Knight Commander, improving the knight’s agility enough to exploit an enemy’s opening 11.
- Movement assistance: Applies power beneath his companions’ feet, making them lighter and faster during their escape 13.
- Automatic protection: His Elemental Mark absorbs Wood energy while he lies unconscious 28.
- Limits: Idiveer leaves Earth elemental power inside his wound and detonates it during their duel, worsening injuries Yetos had suppressed 13.
Swordsmanship
Yetos’s swordsmanship allows him to maintain a stalemate against Idiveer despite a severe shoulder wound 11.
- Channels Wood elemental power through his heavy sword; its swings produce sonic booms 11.
- Uses elemental reinforcement to heighten his strength, speed, senses, and reactions 49.
- Incorporates thrown daggers into close combat against Qin Zihui 49.
- Cannot sustain peak performance indefinitely: his movements slow sharply after exhausting much of his power before the duel 48 49.
Wind Elemental Artifact Operation
Although a Wood Elementalist, Yetos can repair and operate a Wind Elemental Artifact 20 21.
- Creates dangerous green wind currents that keep Black-Feathered Sparrows away from Sand City 20.
- Expands a wind vortex above the city and disperses Ma Linya’s Fragrant Herb Potion as medicinal rain, driving away the flock 21.
- The operation causes sweating, bloodshot eyes, and substantial exhaustion. After dispersing the birds, he expects half an hour of rest to restore his elemental power 21.
Strategy & Elemental Traps
Yetos combines military experience with concealed elemental attacks 43 44.
- Helps Soxia and Zeng Mu construct buried traps using three combined elements; the traps activate when enemies enter them 44.
- Teaches Zeng Mu to distinguish overt attacks from covert ones, emphasizing the danger of prepared ambushes 43.
- Uses reconnaissance, supply checks, and a hand-drawn military map to plan Sand City’s defense and water retrieval 16 21 31.
- Seals the city to prevent its spy from reporting that the water crisis has been resolved 42.
- Keeps Zeng Mu’s abilities in reserve, ordering him to wait for the right opportunity against Qin Zihui 47.
Equipment / Weapons / Items

- Wind Elemental Artifact — A repaired artifact resembling a green teacup, used to protect Sand City and distribute medicinal rain 20 21.

- Bronze Sword — Recovers the Qi Kingdom general’s sword and awards it to Zeng Mu for his contribution against Idiveer 13.
Relationships

- Kanni — Knight under his command. Kanni helps rescue Yetos’s group, earns promotion to Third-Rank Knight, and joins the water-retrieval mission 11 13 16 31.
- William — Long-serving subordinate trusted with reconnaissance orders and responsibility for warning the camp during the Snake King crisis 21 25 27.
- Aikimu — Long-serving subordinate who catches Yetos when he falls from the Snake King. Their familiarity includes Aikimu’s complaints about Yetos refusing to let him handle the Platinum Dagger 25 27 29.
- Xibizete — Long-serving subordinate who assists during the snake crisis and takes charge of prisoners before Yetos leaves to prepare the coalition ambush 25 27 42.
- Ma Linya — Healer and operational ally. Her potion makes Yetos’s citywide response to the sparrow attack possible; he also selects her for the water mission 21 31.
- Soxia — Holy Temple envoy and allied Willful Realm Elementalist who helps Yetos prepare Sand City’s defenses and combined-element traps 41 42 44.
- Idiveer — Viking adversary who wounds and pursues him. Their duel ends with a negotiated ten-day withdrawal 9 11 13.
- Qin Zihui — Coalition commander, battlefield rival, and killer of the comrade who helped Yetos advance. Their siege duel pushes Yetos close to exhaustion 29 48 49.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Withered Forest Battle
- Pursued while wounded, Yetos remains in the forest to buy time rather than immediately rejoin his army 9.
- Ambushes Idiveer after the Viking leader expends substantial elemental power against the Qi force 10.
- Holds a stalemate until Kanni and Zeng Mu intervene; Zeng Mu’s thrown broken sword creates the opening for a decisive energy blast 11 12.
- Accepts Idiveer’s promise to leave the territory alone for ten days. Afterward, he reveals that his own injuries were worse than he had allowed the enemy to see 13.
- Helps evacuate the unconscious Zeng Mu and reunites with the main force, whose morale rises at his return 13.
Sand City’s Creature Attacks
- Repairs and deploys the Wind Elemental Artifact to disperse the sparrow flock with Ma Linya’s potion 20 21.
- Reviews losses totaling 721 casualties: 337 dead, 128 severely wounded, and 256 lightly wounded 22.
- Identifies the yellow viper fruit scheme and orders bird carcasses removed and snake-repellent powder spread, but underestimates the attack’s scale 23.
- Leads the armored assault against the Snake King, then fails to stop its advancement and collapses. Zeng Mu subsequently exposes its Elemental Source 25 26 27.
- Recovers overnight through the source’s energy and recognizes Zeng Mu’s awakening as a Metal Elementalist 29.
Water Crisis & Coalition Siege
- Responds to Red Night Ant contamination by sending a disguised party to retrieve Hidden Lake’s water with the Emerald Bead 30 31.
- Conceals the successful resupply and prepares elemental traps with Soxia and Zeng Mu 42 44.
- Orders Sand City’s 1,223 combat-ready knights to hold their defenses against a coalition more than twice their strength 46.
- Personally attacks the besiegers, restoring morale but consuming more than half his elemental power before Qin Zihui confronts him 48.
- Near exhaustion against Qin Zihui’s Second-Tier Wind Elemental Artifact, receives Zeng Mu’s intervention. He then attempts to intercept Qin Zihui’s full-power strike against the younger Elementalist 49 50.
