West City.
It was not dark yet.
The streets looked utterly desolate.
Only half-dead adults remained by the roadside.
Their eyes were dull and gray, devoid of any emotion.
It was a sign that they had lost hope in life.
Only when several bells rang did fear appear on their faces.
The doors of a dilapidated high-rise opened, and off-road vehicles roared out one after another.
The vehicles were packed with vicious-looking mercenaries, with strings of corpses dragging behind them.
"They've started hunting."
Inside a small, unoccupied house not far from the high-rise.
Tete stared intently at the high-rise, its walls blackened by fire, its windows gone, and the building itself even leaning slightly.
"Every time night falls, Madman's men come out to hunt. Women and children are all targets."
"The women are raped to death, and the children are..."
Tete clenched his teeth, gripping his shotgun so hard it creaked.
"Oh."
Old Ninth sat on a sagging bed, trimming his nails without giving a damn.
He did not care in the slightest whether anyone at Sunshine Beach lived or died.
"Aren't... aren't you going to kill Madman?"
Tete was anxious and angry.
He was counting on Old Ninth to avenge him, but the man looked utterly unconcerned.
"Kid, I'm killing Madman because he crossed me, not because I feel sorry for you. Understand?" Old Ninth looked up and said solemnly, "I'm no saint. Quite the opposite... I'm a bastard worse than the bad guys."
"If you want revenge, grab a shotgun and blow him away. By the time I was your age, I had no enemies left."
Seeing Tete lower his head in disappointment, Hi Dog kindly comforted him. "Brother Tiger sent us to gather information. Now's not the time for revenge."
"Don't worry. Madman will die for sure."
