"Clang, clang, clang!"
Lights suddenly blazed across the base's training ground.
The floodlights left the Resistance Organization members charging inside utterly bewildered.
The net in the sky gradually dimmed as well.
Before anyone could react, people filled the tops of the walls on both sides of the training ground.
Under the lights, a man slowly emerged with his team.
"Kuer!"
The person at the front cried out as though he had seen a ghost.
Dressed in camouflage, Kuer looked as cold as a demon as he swept his merciless gaze over everyone, his hands clasped behind his back.

The four High-Tier Combat fighters beside Kuer licked their lips bloodthirstily.
"Y-you weren't you going to the Alliance?"
The crowd lost its will to fight at the sight of Kuer.
"If I hadn't done that, how would I have dragged you sewer rats out?" Kuer glared savagely at the Resistance Organization. "Everyone who resists us can go to hell!"
"Kill!"
"Rat-tat-tat!"
Dozens of machine guns atop the walls opened fire at once.
People fell in swathes.
Like scythes swung by the Grim Reaper, they kept harvesting lives.
"Fight them to the death!"
"I'll avenge my son!"
"Even if I die, I'm taking you with me!"
When people were driven into a corner, they no longer feared death.
The Resistance Organization members raised their weapons and fiercely exchanged fire with the mercenaries.
But they soon discovered that their weapons could not breach the enemy's defenses at all.
The Awakened had not lost their special abilities.
"Save some ammunition.
