In space.
At the God-Slaying Cannon control center.
Smith reluctantly stroked the photo of his wife and daughter on his phone.
"Target locked, Colonel Smith."
"Prepare to fire."
"God-Slaying Cannon preparing to activate."
"Three..."
Sitting in the main control room, Smith uneasily sent his wife a message. "Darling, do you remember the wish I told you about? A united Human Race, with no racial divisions."
"No one will ever mock your skin color again."
"I love you."
Like a soldier heading into battle, Smith resolutely turned off his phone.
"Two."
Dazzling light flooded the control center.
Everyone put on sunglasses in unspoken accord.
Boom, boom, boom!
Violent vibrations set the entire control center trembling.
Smith gripped the armrests, feeling as though his heart would leap out of his chest.
His adrenaline kept surging.
He knew what kind of war this shot would unleash.
Suddenly,
A bird's cry drowned out the God-Slaying Cannon's roar.
Smith looked around in surprise, then shook his head in self-mockery.
"This is space. Where would a bird come from?"
Everyone on the beach stared up at the sky in disbelief.
A white meteor rose from the ground, trailing a long streak of light as it hurtled toward the God-Slaying Cannon blast about to descend.
"What's that?"
Old Ninth stared blankly at the rising meteor. "Whose kid set off fireworks?"
"My wife... that's my fucking wife!"
White light shone from Earthworm's chest, just like the meteor rushing upward.
He could feel how familiar and comforting that white light was.
"My wife's here! Fuck, my wife's here! Shit, honey, get them!"
Forgetting his injuries, Earthworm pumped his fist excitedly with Hi Dog supporting him.
"Sister-in-law, get him!"
"Sister-in-law, get him! Get him! Knock that damn thing down!"
Hi Dog and the others immediately perked up.
