Chapter 1110
Melon not only chased to the Watchtower Compound's entrance with a dozen fellow disciples, but also had three spirit beasts beside him. They resembled cats, yet were not cats, with bodies like balls of flesh and soft horns on their heads. These creatures were specially raised by the Myriad Spirits Garden's Punishment Hall and were called Tracking Beasts.
These spirit beasts were born deficient and could never attain enlightenment, but possessed an exceptionally powerful ability to track scents.
The group chased out of the Prefectural Yamen courtyard, only for the three Tracking Beasts to suddenly disagree. The soft horns on Little Qing's and Little Lü's heads stood up, neither soft nor hard, like Little Bad King's earthworm, slowly pointing east along the street; Little Zi's horn, however, pointed west, in the completely opposite direction.
All three Tracking Beasts had carefully memorized Guo An's scent earlier. Their differing "opinions" now meant that traces of his scent remained in both directions.
After a brief moment of thought, Melon reacted swiftly. "Junsheng, feel them. Which one's harder?"
"What's harder?" The disciple named Junsheng was rather bewildered, completely unable to follow Melon's train of thought.
Melon gave him an incredulous look and chose his words with great precision. "What do you think? Whichever one's harder is more excited!"
"Oh, oh, oh...!"
Junsheng immediately caught on and abruptly extended his divine soul perception. "Little Zi. Little Zi's is harder," he declared.
Melon turned back and shouted to the Watchtower Compound officers inside the courtyard, "Which way did Prison Warden Zhou's carriage go?"
"West Street. It went toward West Street."
"Junsheng, take five men and follow Little Lü and Little Qing toward East Street. Remember, if you catch up with anyone suspicious, do not fight them. Just keep them occupied and wait for reinforcements.
