Piercing cries drifted into the room, leaving Ren Ye and the others, who were discussing matters, somewhat bewildered.
"Shit, is someone trying to assassinate my father-in-law?!" Old Liu froze briefly, then swiftly mobilized his Star Source Power and charged outside in a very "filial" display.
Apu also looked puzzled. "Could they be after the supreme treasure?"
"Let's not split up. We'll go out together and take a look," Ren Ye reminded them, then followed with the Princess Consort and Apu.

The four had barely rushed out of the room when they felt a tremendous force pushing against their bodies. After sensing it for just a moment, they realized it was a shock wave produced by clashing mystical abilities, as violent as a hurricane.
Ren Ye and the others steadied themselves and immediately circulated Star Source Power throughout their bodies, all bracing themselves to resist it.
"Whoosh-boom!"
The hurricane swept past, instantly shattering the side room's door panels, windows, glass, and everything else. It even toppled one of the load-bearing pillars in the corridor outside, but all four of them remained unharmed.

Then they heard piercing sounds cutting through the air. Looking up abruptly, they saw over a dozen figures chasing someone in a cloak, rushing out of the Gao Residence and straight toward the mountain behind it.
"Holy shit, that one they're chasing... why does it look like the Night Walker?" Old Liu asked in astonishment.
"It doesn't just look like the Night Walker. It is," Ren Ye replied with a frown. "Moving that fast without any Star Source Fluctuation, and with silver skin, too-there's no one else it could be."
