Early the next morning, after breakfast, Ren Ye and the others headed to the Myriad Phenomena Sect with Ning Bo.
Although Gutan City was neither as vast nor as prosperous as Giant City or Base City, it had two main districts, Tannan and Tanbei. The Gutan Sect's secret realm lay in the central area between them.
According to Ning Bo, the way into the Gutan Sect Secret Realm was rather unusual. Supernatural ability users had to carry a special Route Pass Token and enter the Gutan Sect's territory to trigger entry into the secret realm. No teleportation was needed.
Ren Ye and the others were staying in Tanbei, so reaching the Myriad Phenomena Sect in Tannan required a detour. They walked for a little under half an hour before arriving at the gates of a sprawling, imposing compound.
The five looked up to examine it. Two stone crane statues stood before the compound, faintly radiating a mystical aura. Above the two broad gates hung a gleaming gold plaque bearing three large characters-Myriad Phenomena Sect.
Directly ahead, both gates stood open. They could see quite a few disciples in blue Daoist robes sweeping leaves and dust from the courtyard, while others sat cross-legged, cultivating.
Observing closely, Ren Ye noticed that the dark blue robes these Daoists wore all had cranes embroidered on their backs, unlike the outfit worn by Old Wu in blue whom he had previously met in the school alley.
He had thought Old Wu in blue might also belong to the Myriad Phenomena Sect. Perhaps a meal of spicy hotpot and some invigorating service from a songstress could persuade him to return to his sect and obtain a couple of Route Passes. Now, however, the two groups appeared completely unrelated.
The plan had failed...
