Ren Ye caught the striking block the Storyteller tossed over. Stroking it and probing it with his senses, he asked quietly, "You're imprisoned in this death cell, your divine soul bound, your divine methods and physical body sealed. You can't even transmit your voice. How did you keep this Life-Bound Treasure outside the seals?"
"I hid it before I came in." His cheek itching, the Storyteller picked at a pustule as he said disgustingly, "Before I was captured, I used a Life-Bound Divine Method to erase every trace of this striking block's aura. Then I concealed it on my person and brought it into this cell."
Ren Ye examined the striking block carefully with his senses, but found no aura leaking from the magic treasure at all. Its rounded grip had been worn old and shabby, and even The Human World Map engraved on it had grown extremely indistinct. In short, it "looked" filthy and gave off a faint stink, no different from ordinary wood.
In his hand, however, the striking block was heavy and cold to the touch, imparting a sense of tranquility.
Honestly, without the Heavenly Dao's explicit announcement, Ren Ye would never have believed this was the Storyteller's Life-Bound Treasure based on its appearance alone. It was simply too ordinary.
On reflection, though, it made sense. With all the Storyteller's divine methods sealed, he was no different from an ordinary person, so it was reasonable for his Life-Bound Treasure to look a little "plain and unassuming" too.
The Little Bad King looked up and asked quietly, "With your divine methods sealed, what good does leaving your Life-Bound Treasure outside do?"
"Just peace of mind. With this thing left outside, I can always feel
