Land of Exiles, District 1, inside an upscale apartment.
The terrified landlord burst out of the room and crashed into the hallway, his mouth open in a scream, yet unable to make a sound.
"What happened?" Dressed in a black uniform suit, Guan Ze stepped out of his apartment and caught the thick scent of blood.
"Mr. Guan Ze, I don't know what happened. I didn't do anything. I just hadn't seen this tenant go out in so long that I thought it was strange and came to check."
Guan Ze patted the landlord's shoulder and channeled spiritual qi into him.
"Don't worry. It'll be all right. Let me handle it. Just stand still for now."
As he spoke, he drew a pistol from inside his suit. It was the Silver-White Pistol, a weapon designed not for ordinary people, but to suppress spiritual qi.
He stepped through the front door, but instead of immediately entering the bedroom, he examined the living room.
The living room was filled with various instruments and containers, packed with insects and other crawling creatures: spiders, centipedes, butterflies, earthworms, ants...
One of the containers holding spiders seemed to have cracked open. Quite a few spiders had crawled out, spinning layer upon layer of webs across the living room.
"An Insect Keeper?"
Guan Ze rarely stayed in this apartment. He owned several properties and only came here occasionally, so he didn't know the tenants.
Over a dozen teacups sat on the living room's coffee table, along with pastries and fruit. Most of the fruit had rotted, and the pastries had spoiled, filling the entire room with the stench of decay.
