Wu Shaozhen looked at the coffin in the middle. If he wanted to get out, it was probably his only way forward. Yet for some reason, the sight of it gave him the creeps, as though something utterly terrifying lurked inside.
Forget it. I'll check out those four guards beside the coffin first, Wu Shaozhen thought. Four stone statues still stood beside the coffin. Unlike the coffin guards, they were taller and more imposing, and the spears in their hands were longer.
"If it's a blessing, it won't hurt me. If it's a disaster, there's no escaping it," Wu Shaozhen said to steel himself. He had no other way out now. He cautiously approached the statues, and sure enough, when he came within a meter of them, their stone shells rapidly began to fall away, just as before. Wu Shaozhen hurriedly backed off.
