The streetlights in the square were dim, and only the areas near the shops had much of a crowd.
He put his permit away and, as he rounded a breakfast shop, suddenly bumped into someone.
"Who was that!?"
At the familiar voice, Lu Mi moved to leave without even turning his head.
"Hey-isn't that Lu Mi?"
Jin Bi hurried around in front of him and sneered. "What happened? Wasn't your Popularity Value sky-high before? How come you've dropped out of the top five now?"
Lu Mi had only checked his Popularity Value on his Wristband during the day. It had indeed stopped growing because one of his instances hadn't been made into a show.
But he hadn't checked his exact ranking on the big screen since the Human-Ghost Showdown standings were taken down.
"Move," Lu Mi said coldly.
Jin Bi folded her arms and looked him over. "Not promoting yourself as a couple with Cheng Cheng anymore? Can't ride his popularity now, can you?"
"Last warning. Move."
"Ooh, scary." Jin Bi shrugged. "This is the Public Rest Area. What can you do to me?"
Lu Mi put his hand behind his back.
Oblivious, Jin Bi kept going.
"Cheng Cheng isn't even around you anymore. Let's just chat like old acquaintances. What did you do to make him so sick of you? Tell me-aaaaah!!"
A cluster of flames burned her arm. "What did you do!? Put it out! Put it out!!"
Lu Mi remained unmoved. "It's just ordinary fire. Jump into that fountain and you'll be fine. Move. I'm in a terrible mood right now, and I could always give you fire that can't be put out."
Jin Bi dropped to the ground and rolled around, howling. "Guards! Guards!!"
The guards rushed over at the noise. One held Jin Bi down
