At Cheng Cheng's shout, the figure ahead quickly turned around, but his hands were nowhere to be seen.
Lu Mi ran closer before he saw that Roman had hidden his hands inside his black cloak.
"Lu Mi." Roman fluttered his beautiful eyes ingratiatingly.
"Take your hands out-no, wait." Lu Mi pointed at the stream. "What's in there?"
That was close. A diversion. I almost fell for it.
"What?" Roman tilted his head slightly.
"Those red things in the water... huh?"
The stream was crystal clear, without a trace of blood.
Great. He sure destroyed the evidence fast. Lu Mi nodded. "You're really something."
Roman pretended not to understand the implication and dutifully said, "Thank you."
Lu Mi scrutinized him from head to toe, but he really could see no sign of injury.
He wanted to ask why Roman had suddenly come here, but Roman spoke first. "Oh, right! I have some amazing news for you!"
His eyes sparkled in the sunlight, brimming with excitement. "I was about to go out and find you, but you came in first-since you're here, I'll take you straight to see her."

"Don't worry. I won't do anything that makes you worry." Roman stepped back and beckoned, the smile still in his eyes. "This way."
Seeing how lively and energetic he was, Lu Mi felt reassured for the moment and followed him with Cheng Cheng.
On the way, Lu Mi asked twice who "she" was, but Roman said he wanted to keep it a surprise and wouldn't tell him yet.
