"I'm coming." Lu Mi wiped the sweat from his forehead and walked over.
Had he guessed wrong?
Liang Mafeng sat among the others, wearing a heavy, dark coat, the same mild, unassuming smile still on his face.
Gong Tan nestled against him, his entire face buried in Liang Mafeng's clothes, motionless.
Something about the two of them felt strange to Lu Mi, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
"Where's the wooden box?" he asked.
"The wooden box! The wooden box!" Huihui turned and called to the other players. "Pass it over so Lu Mi can have a look!"
This round had quite a few players. Even now, more than a dozen were still alive.
"Look." Huihui beamed as she opened the wooden box in front of Lu Mi.
There were ten small, round recesses inside the box. Three held little balls of different colors, like glass marbles.
On closer inspection, something resembling clouds or mist could be seen slowly swirling inside them.
"This dark red one is Box Woman-the evil spirit in my room."
Huihui pointed them out from left to right. "The black one is Under-Bed Guest, and the last one, the gray one, is Spider Man."
Lu Mi took the wooden box and examined it for a moment.
"Liang Mafeng caught all of these?"
"Haha, no." Liang Mafeng had been listening to their conversation and smoothly joined in. "Little Tan deserves some credit too."
Huihui gave him a thumbs-up. "But Gong Tan only had the courage to follow your example because you were brave enough to figure out how the box worked and catch two first."
Lu Mi's gaze settled on the curled-up Gong Tan.
What Huihui had said was probably Liang Mafeng's version of events.
But given Gong Tan's timid nature, it was probably close
