Arc 2The Village’s Hidden Crimes

Ning Qiushui and his companions uncovered how the Ruan Clan had driven the Guang family’s deaths and kept the village’s ghosts at bay through human sacrifices. • Bai Xiaoxiao identified Spirit Medium Ruan as the Evildoer and urged the survivors to find the Compassionate One’s head, but she disappeared and Ning Qiushui found her living head in a jar at the Spirit Medium’s residence.
  • Ning Qiushui and Liu Chengfeng lured the Spirit Medium to Fangcun Pond, where the skin-shedding ghost restrained and killed her, then they read the book documenting Ruan Kaihuang’s crimes against Guang Xiu’s family and Zhu Nanyu.
  • Ning Qiushui and Liu Chengfeng went to Back Mountain for Bai Xiaoxiao’s body, escaped the Temple with it during Guang Xiu’s attack, and warned the bespectacled man’s group as they fled.
