His wife exploded.
Zhang Qiang froze in place.
His first reaction was not anger, but fear-deep fear. A chill ran down his spine, and every hair on his body trembled wildly.
Horror, panic, awe.
One emotion after another tangled in his heart, making his expression shift unpredictably.
One beat of a drum, and his wife had exploded into charcoal scattered across the floor.
This was too damn eerie!
"Ghost Qi +999!"
"Ghost Qi +999!"
Zhang Qiang glanced fearfully at Jiang Chen as though he had seen a ghost, then desperately charged toward the window, actually intending to jump out and escape at any cost.
"Aaah! Help!"
Meanwhile, Jiang Chen swallowed three Spirit-Gathering Pills, replenishing his depleted Demonic Power.
Jiang Chen struck the Kui Ox Drum again, still offering reassurance. "Don't be scared. You'll be gone in the blink of an eye. You won't feel any pain."
He had barely offered those words of comfort.
Then he grew thoughtful again.
"Right, killing him in one hit like this, without even letting him feel that last bit of pain before death-isn't that showing him too much respect?"
With that thought in mind.
After he struck the Kui Ox Drum a second time, the blue-green ball of lightning veered slightly off course.
Boom!!!
With a tremendous blast, Zhang Qiang fell to the floor with half his body blown away. With only his arms, chest, and head remaining, he lay at death's door and uttered one final word.
"Pain."
Then his body began to rot and turn black.
This corpse might not even have been his own. Only the ghost possessing it had barely maintained its half-rotten state. Once Zhang Qiang's soul was utterly destroyed, the corpse rapidly oxidized.
"Ghost Qi +999."
"Ding, ..."
Listening to the notifications ringing in his mind.
