"Tap... tap... tap..."
Eerie knocking came from the bathroom. Blood flowed beneath the door, making it impossible to bear imagining just what was inside.
The woman sprawled on the floor found strength from somewhere, gritted her teeth, scrambled up, and ran desperately downstairs.
Perhaps her will to survive had drawn out her potential.
At that moment, the woman ran like the wind. She quickly reached the entrance, opened the door, and dashed out with the speed and agility of a hundred-meter champion, racing madly down Loess Road.
The more she thought about it, the more something felt wrong.
She looked back.
Outside the security bars on her second-floor bathroom window, a man was holding a wooden stick, repeatedly poking the door inside.
The woman's pupils slowly widened. Seemingly realizing something, she hurried back.
"Bang!"
Her front door slammed shut.
"So that's it... so that's it..." The woman froze in place, her heart filled with fear, panic, despair, and regret. The tangle of emotions nearly drove her mad.
At that moment, she finally understood everything.
The ghost had never gone inside.
Instead, she had lost her nerve and been frightened into leaving the house herself.
"Clang! Clang! Claaang..."
Just then, something heavy scraped along the ground, making harsh clanging sounds as it struck the gravel.
The woman looked up, and her pupils involuntarily contracted.
A black silhouette had a burlap sack hanging from his waist, with what looked like something round inside.
His head hung low, his expression sinister, as he slowly approached, dragging a heavy hammer. A little girl with a wooden expression clung to the hammer, letting out faint, intermittent laughter...
The sight.
Was utterly bizarre and deeply chilling.
The blood in the woman's body nearly froze. She backed away in panic. "Stay away... don't come near me, don't..."
