"Sure, but can you afford it?" After a brief pause, the female patient sneered.
"Come to my place after I'm discharged. I'll give you twenty million," Jiang Chen said with outrageous extravagance.
Her eyes lit up at first, but she soon shook her head. "No. Registration fees have to be paid on the spot. If you didn't bring money, your medical record, hands, feet, or kidneys can all serve as collateral."
As she spoke, ill intent was written all over her face. This was clearly her real objective!
"That makes sense. Once you're in a hospital, the currency you trade in should suit the hospital's specialties..." Unexpectedly, Jiang Chen rubbed his chin and actually agreed. "How about this? Later, we'll go knock my roommate out, and I'll cut out both his kidneys for you."
The female patient's mouth twitched.
"In just a few sentences, you've brought up harming your roommate twice. What rotten luck he has, sharing a room with you! Ghost Qi +999!"
Her expression shifted uncertainly. Suddenly, she climbed onto the counter and crawled out through the little window. This was bizarre in the extreme: Jiang Chen could clearly see that the door beside the registration office was open.
"All right. What do you want me to play with you?"
As the woman crawled out, she spoke in a sinister voice.
Jiang Chen didn't answer. Instead, he held out both hands as though to catch her.
The female patient had been gripping the edge of the counter to keep her balance. Seeing this, she reached toward Jiang Chen.
But at that very moment, Jiang Chen took a step back.
Losing her balance, the female patient fell straight from the windowsill with a thud, landing face-first. Her head split open, spilling crimson blood.
